I can't work out how to link my RE450 range extender to the TP Cloud in order to manage it remotely. Any pointers appreciated.

Does the Tether app at least recognize your RE450 as a local device when you are directly connected to its network or does it not recognize it at all?
Tap on the "RE450". If you do this for the first time, then you will be asked to enter the RE450's login password.
Then tap on the "Tools" icon in the lower right corner, then select "TP-Link ID" and then tap on "Bind". After that the RE450 should also be shown as "Cloud Device" and you can manage it from anywhere.
@woozle Thank you. Unfortunately my Tools menu does not have that option. Could it be that my RE450 V1 does not have this feature? My Tether app is updated, the RE450 has the latest firmware.
If the "TP-Link ID" option doesn't exist, then it's likely that the RE450 V1 doesn't support it.
Only someone from TP-Link support would know for sure.
