Does the resolution selected in the app set both the resolution on live view and recorded video? It seems to me that you would need the highest resolution for recording, if you need evidence, but can cope with relatively low resolution for live viewing (especial on a small screen over WiFi).

If it is just the one setting, it's there a chance that 'dual resolution' might be introduced in the future?

  @PeterKelly

Hi,
The resolution selected in the app is set for the live view page of the camera Tapo C520WS, usually, the video will be recorded with the highest resolution.
Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

Thank you for the response. If you are correct ( I presume that you are ) then would you recommend to the company that they change the wording in the app?

Currently is says that 720p is 'data saving' which implies that it affects recorded files.

Perhaps say 'faster live streaming'?

  @PeterKelly

Hi,
I double-confirmed the information with the relevant team and for the Tapo C520WS V1, the video quality setting on the Tapo app applies to both resolution on live view and recorded video now.
Sorry for the information provided before. For your feedback to have dual resolution options, I'll log it and forward it to the related team to evaluate.
Best Regards
