TP-Link TL-SF1009P
Am a bit confused by these switches that do PoE
For example the TL-SF1009P
Installation guide says can support up to 65w.. Now I have a router and an AP point both PoE with combined power of 48w.
What I do not understand is the router needs 48v ant 0.5A and the AP point 24v at 1A
So can this switch do both and if so how does it know the voltages needed?
Thanks

You have to be careful when using the PoE devices - they have to support the same PoE standard.
Here are the voltage for standard PoE:
IEEE 802.3af | 37-57 V | 100 m |
IEEE 802.3at | 42.5-57 V | 100 m |
TL-SF1009P supports 802.3af/at PoE+ standard.
There's also a passive PoE which could be 24V, 48V and 54V - a fixed output voltage is provided and there is no negotiation performed.
Some of the APs support a passive PoE which is a different standard.

@Bogart99 My all sounds complicated think I will stick with each device using its own PoE psu.

That would be best in your case. The main rule when using PoE is that devices should support the same/compatible PoE standard (voltage) - otherwise you can cause a damage.

Yes best to err on the side of caution.
Thanks for the help
