Hello Team,

 

Greetings!

 

We are currently using the Deco X50-Outdoor model, which has 87 Sonoff Dual R3 clients connected, but they are experiencing random disconnections frequently due to which unable to manage the sonoff clients. All Sonoff clients are connected via the 2.4 GHz frequency band.

 

Could you please advise on the maximum number of clients that the Deco X50-Outdoor AP can handle on the 2.4 GHz band? Additionally, we are unable to manually select non-overlapping channels like 1, 6, or 11, as the Deco X50 automatically assigns the channel. Your guidance on this matter would be appreciated.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

The maximum clients are closely related to the device type and current 2.4GHz wireless network occupancy. I think 87 is far over the threshold.

For Sonos devices, we do not recommend connecting all of them directly to the host Wi-Fi and it would be better to wire one of the Sonos devices to the Deco and leave Sonos devices communicate via the dedicated wireless SonosNet, such as the post mentioned here:

  @David-TP  Sonoff is different than Sonos. Sonoff is just a network controlled relay. The band used is extremly small. I have also 60 in my network managed by a X50-outdoor and M5 sattelites. Same behiavor of disconnections and so on as described in a previous request for assistance remained unanswered...

The clients/devices we are using is sonoff dual R3 wireless power relay devices. To further clarify, we have 87 such devices connected to single AP X50 in 2.4 Ghz Band. 

Appreciate if you can please advise the maximum clients supported on deco x50-outdoor AP on 2.4Ghz Band or share any data sheet/links referring to it. 

 

Also please advise recommended practice to connect these 87 sonoff dual R3 wireless devices/clients.
