Need some help here. I've just bought a 3-pack WIFI 7 TP-Link Deco BE65.

I have turned on 6Ghz band and MLO (Multi-link operation). For mesh, 1 main unit to ONT, 1 unit is using wired for backhaul and the last unit is wireless.

I heard that once MLO is turned on, backhaul will automatically be disabled. I also read conflicting Internet messages that regardless MLO is on or not, the 6Ghz will still be used for backhaul.

Not sure if my TP-Link Deco BE65 supports dedicated backhaul (enabling MLO will disable wireless backhaul) or flexible backhaul?  If my router has limited channel availability, enabling MLO could prioritize MLO over wireless backhaul, affecting backhaul bandwidth.

Seeking your advise whether to turn MLO on or off if I need my last (3rd) unit for wireless backhaul.

Thank you very much in advance.

  @ChiaKS

Hi, welcome to the community.

MLO network will not disable WiFi Backhaul. Whether it is on or off, the 3rd Deco BE65 can connect to the nearest Deco BE65 over the 2.4/5/6GHz band.

(Due to the limited performance of 2.4GHz, the WiFi Backhaul prefers 5G+6GHz WiFi bands now.)

Thank you very much and best regards.
