Before the Upgrade
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the BETA firmware!
(2) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.
(3) This version of software contains important updates with EasyMesh, so it CANNOT be degraded to the previous version.
(4) EasyMesh would not be available when the router works in Access Point mode.

@Kevin_Z When I'm turning the Easymesh on, the router crashes all the time/ Internet disconects.
I am using AX90 + 2*re705 extenders. Is there a newer beta? when would the stable be out?
@Itai__ Thank you for the feedback.
Regarding the issue you reported, could you please clarify the below details?
1. How are the AX90 and the two RE705X connected? Make sure they are not connected to the AX90 via any Ethernet cables.
2. Does the router crash When turning on EasyMesh on the AX90 and not adding the extenders? What if you leave the two RE705X powered off and disconnect from the network, then try to enable the EasyMesh on the AX90 again, will it crash?

@Kevin_Z I also seem to have a problem with the WiFi turning off and the led indicator light becoming red randomly.
@nathanielcwm Could you please also provide more details about your network topology and the settings to help us confirm the issue? Thank you.

@Kevin_Z Thanks for assisting.
1. They are connected through an ethernet cable. I made this update to have ethernet backhaul as my access points are quite far from one another and there's low reception otherwise. My connection is Fiberwire to AX90 outs to a (dummy) switch that is connected to the two re705 units.
When I am using the AX90 regularly and the RE705 in access points mode I have no problem (but this is not under Easymesh).
2. Tried this. When the two RE705 are disconnected, the AX90 is stable (Easymesh is on). Getting back the two RE705s to power but on access point mode and Easymesh on - is also good (it won't recognize them as satellites but as clients). When I am moving even one of them to Range extender mode, everything crashes when I am trying to connect to the extender (after it restarts). I added one of the RE705s as a Range extender and the other one as an access point (the one that usually is farther). It is starting to crash. No internet to all the points and cable connection, and the AX90 restarts.
Thanks!

Do you have any recommendation for a TP link range extender model that would be more likely to work with the AX90's new EasyMesh beta firmware for using the ethernet backhaul?
I have seen various TP link range extenders on the following tplink EasyMesh page but wondered if any particular product has had better compatibility during testing on the beta firmware
https://www.tp-link.com/us/easymesh/product-list/
(Using for home set-up to cover ground floor whilst the ax90 is on top floor)

To use the EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul function with the Archer AX90, the range extender must also support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul. In this case, you will have 3 models to choose from at the moment:

The AX90 is in Router mode, this is connected to another router which has the AX90 in its DMZ. The AX90 is set to a static IP. There are 2 unmanaged switches connected to the AX90, one connected to the 2.5Gb port. All bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz-1, 5GHz-2) are enabled with WPA3-Transitional (and Smart Connect) and other networks (Guest / IOT) are not enabled. 2.4GHz is set to be fixed to channel 11 with a 20MHz width while the other channels are set to auto channels with their respective maximum widths (80 & 160). Easymesh is enabled in the settings but no EasyMesh or OneMesh devices are connected. Weekly router reboots are scheduled so the router would not have a terribly high uptime between crashes.
The consistent thing between router crashes appears to be a laptop equipped with a RTL8852CE attempting to handshake with the AX90, which intermittently causes the AX90 to crash. This occurs when the laptop attempts to connect under both Windows and Linux.

Thank you for the quick reply @Kevin_Z.
Could I use another TP Link Wifi Router to pair with my AX90 to complete the EasyMesh Ethernet backhaul? (i.e. Is it limited to only pairing with a WiFi Range Extender?)
RE315 V1 appears to be the only range extender available in UK but the ethernet port is only 10/100Mbps. If I can pair the AX90 to another Wifi Router could my ethernet backhaul run at 1Gbps? Would the additional router need to run in Access Point mode or similar? Example models that seem pretty close to the price of the RE315 include: -
- Archer C6 V4
- Archer C80
Choosing these would offer offer more ports in addition to the the faster 1Gbps ethernet backhaul conection if this is possible.
Above products found by referring to the TPLink EasyMesh UK product page with the Ethernet backhaul filter enabled (https://www.tp-link.com/uk/easymesh/product-list/)

@CyberSiUK Yes. You can also choose Wi-Fi routers that support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul to establish the mesh connection. Please be aware that AX90 doesn't support EasyMesh when working in AP Mode.
Yes. If both the main and satellite routers have gigabit ports, the connection can reach up to 1 Gbps.
For a list of routers that support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul, please refer to Product List of EasyMesh Routers that Support Building a EasyMesh Network via Ethernet Backhaul. You can check which are available in your region.
