connection to other networks could not be disabled

In the "Network" tab of the adaptor interface you can see all available wireless networks. A checkbox in each one exists to give the possibility to "automatically connect" or not. Whenever I leave it unchecked so as not to connect to other networks than my home network, the adaptor's software does not keep this and whenever another's network signal become stronger (for any reason) it connects automatically to this "foreign" network asking for passwords etc.
Is there a solution to "stabilize" the blank checkbox so as not to connect to other networks?
