Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hello. I have had this issue for a few months now but I have always put it on the side instead of fixing it. My router's login page cannot be accessed no matter what I do. I have spent countless hours searching through the forum for other people with the same or simmilar problem that I have and following the steps support gave them but nothing has fixed it so far.

Things I've tried so far:

  1. Tried logging in to both http://tplinkwifi.net/  and 192.168.0.1
  2. Instead of 192.168.0.1 I have tried countless other variations like 192.168.1,2,3,4,5 - 200... and still nothing
  3. I have tried using both mobile apps but the router cannot be discovered by none of them
  4. I have tried connecting through ethernet cable, 4g, 5g and even with a direct cable straight from router to laptop and tried all of the steps mentioned above again while connected to each type.
  5. I have tried resetting the router by pressing and holding the reset button on the back which also did nothing and I have tried doing that multiple times while holding the button for longer or shorted periods of time.
  6. I have also tried the 30-30-30 rule
  7. I have tried clearing the browser's cookies / cache multiple times.
  8. Tried using different browsers
  9. Tried using different devices including mobile, PC, Laptop
  10. Tried using multiple O.S. while troubleshooting on both mobile and desktop (Android / Apple os ) & ( Windows / Linux )
  11. The only thing I haven't tried yet is pouring gasoline on it and lighting it up.

Thanks.

Hi@Spagget,

Please check whether the range extender model is one of the following: TL-WA850RE_V7;TL-WA855RE_V5

If yes, please try the suggestions of : Wi-Fi Range Extender Causing Host Router No Internet

  @Spagget

Hi,

When you say pressing and holding the reset button on the back "did nothing", do you just mean it didn't solve the login problem or did it literally do nothing at all?

A successful reset is usually indicated by a distinctive light pattern from the router's LEDs, like all (6?) LEDs simultaneously turn on and then off again.

Another indicator of a successful reset is if the names of the Wi-Fi networks (SSIDs) changed from whatever you had set it before back to the SSIDs and wireless password that are printed on the label that is attached to the underside of the router.

@woozle It had 2 results. Sometimes when holding reset button the router would completely freeze and not work no matter how long i left it on for it wouldn't even connect to internet. after restarting worked fine though but did not solve issue.

@Spagget  I think you are using an extender. Do you have an extender connected to the router?

@Koushik7788 yes but an extender should not be causing any problems

@Spagget  Turn off the extender. Maybe your problem will be solved. Many customers are having problems using extenders.

@Joseph-TP  I am also facing main router no internet problem when the extender is connected. I am using Archer c6u router as an extender (wds mode) . When I disconnect the extender the internet problem is fixed. What should I do?

Hi,

When connecting a router as an extender via WDS, then make sure you deactivate the DCHP server of that "extender" router. Only the main router should have its DHCP server active.

@woozle  I know how to set up a router in the WDS method, I have been using it for the past two years. But for the past three months, the main router has been experiencing occasional no internet problems. Disconnecting the extender fixes the problem.

Re:Router login page refused to connect

This usually happens when the router’s web management IP (192.168.0.1 or tplinkwifi.net) is being “masked” by another device in the network, most commonly an extender in WDS or AP mode. That’s why you can’t reach the login page, even after resets.

Here are a few things to check that aren’t always obvious:

  1. Confirm IP conflict – If the extender is running its own DHCP, it can hand out an address that doesn’t point back to the Archer’s 192.168.0.1. Try disconnecting all extenders and connecting directly by cable to the C6.

  2. Manual IP assignment – On your PC, set a static IP like 192.168.0.10 / 255.255.255.0 / gateway 192.168.0.1, then retry the login page. This often bypasses the extender’s DHCP.

  3. Hard reset indicators – On the C6, a successful reset is when SSIDs revert to the defaults printed on the router’s bottom label. If you still see your custom SSID after holding reset for 10+ seconds, the reset didn’t complete.

  4. Extender workaround – If you still need the extender, disable its DHCP completely. Only the Archer should be running DHCP. Otherwise you’ll get the “refused to connect” problem again.

For a step-by-step walkthrough of fixing router login issues (tplinkwifi.net / 192.168.0.1 / 10.0.0.1), here’s a detailed guide: 10001.uno

Even if your case is already solved, these checks usually help others who hit the same “login page won’t load” issue with TP-Link routers + extenders.
