[RESOLVED] RE655BE (EU) Stability issues when MLO is active

Update: The latest beta firmware (20250619-rel21989) has finally fixed the issue. An official firmware will be released with the fix. Cheers!
Hello,
I set the RE655BE (EU) up as AP mode.
Configured OFDMA on all bands, and MU-MIMO where possible (5 & 6). These settings can only be set on the web interface, not the app for some reason.
I set everything as Wifi7 WPA3 (or WPA2/WPA3), disabled WPS (though the AP is still signaling the WPS tag on the 2.4 and 5 bands for some reason), put bandwidth for every band to their respective maximum (40, 160, 320), and set the lowest channel on all bands.
I haven't tried EasyMesh, as I have no other EasyMesh devices. The router has wifi completely turned off, so the RE655BE is the only networking device emitting wifi in my home's network.
It's rock solid, and the signal is great even though I have a TON of neighbors and office wifi signals around me (it's a high density mixed-use apartment neighborhood).
Buuut... If I turn on MLO, even though I only have one device using it, stability breaks. It happens more often when my MLO smartphone is far away from the AP. After a while, all wifi goes offline (including non-MLO). OFDMA and MU-MIMO don't change how often it crashes. The AP is still accessible from ethernet, but no wifi available whatsoever.
When wifi was down, I logged into the AP using ethernet, and did a small test: I changed configurations on MLO, and also on different bands (because that triggers a wifi network restart), but it didn't make wifi work again. I have to reboot it to make wifi work again.
So... In summary, if you disable MLO, the RE655BE is a rock solid device.
But MLO is just a no-go for now.
Hoping that you will fix MLO sooner than later.
Cheers!

Sorry I wasn't very clear. All of my wifi 7 clients connect to the MLO band and like you, the clients just wouldn't connect to that AP any more.
@Joseph-TP
My network topology is
fibre ONT --- router (no wifi) --- RJ45 switch --- RE655BE unit1/2/3 all in AP mode )))((( clients
Thanks for the beta firmware, unforrtunately i don't have the time to try it out but auto firmware update is enabled on all of my 3 units so hopefully the new fw gets pushed automatically once it has a final release.

I can confirm that there have been no further issues with MLO since I installed the latest beta firmware. It has been completely stable, so I'm very happy with the outcome.
The tech team has also informed that the WPS flag when WPS is disabled was put there by mistake (it's not active when it's disabled, even if the flag is there); and that it will be taken care of on a future firmware.
All in all, it took quite a bit of back and forth, but the main issue (MLO) has been resolved, and the WPS flag seems to be "false flag", so it's a trivial issue.
I'll be editing my comments on Amazon and Reddit to reflect the good news.
Cheers!

Same here, I haven't experienced the stability issue when using MLO since updating to the beta version.
Also great to hear the WPS issue is a non-factor is also will be addressed in an upcoming firmware.

@heffeque Silly question, but how can I get the beta version? I am facing same issue with MLO, just keeps dropping and need to restart the AP or it to start again.

Hello@rohitms & all,
Welcome to our community.
You can install firmware here: Wi-Fi devices may experience disconnections when connected to the RE655BE's MLO network in AP mode
Best Regards.
