Yes, I'm wondering the same thing. I've spent some time trying to find the device ID on some devices, but I can't find it.

can someone check, user authorization via hotspot does not work, there is no redirect to the authorization page, the browser gives an error ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

  @Vincent-TP

Nice that this version is available; I am trying out this new enhancement:

12) **Added support for DHCP Option 60 in Site View > Settings > Wired & Wireless Networks > Internet > WAN Ports Config > Advanced DHCP Options and Site View > Settings > Wired & Wireless Networks > Virtual WAN > EDIT > Advanced DHCP Options. This option allows DHCP clients to optionally identify their vendor type and configuration.

However it doesn't show up;

In this controller the adopted gateway is an ER7206 v2.0 using firmware 2.2.0 Build 20250218 Rel.17499

  @Skier16

it needs an updated router firmware, which doesnt exist yet, as indicated by the ** at the beginning of that entry in the changelog

Hi  @GRL

This feature enables a single SSID to map to multiple VLANs simultaneously, achieving more flexible network resource management. Based on a Hash algorithm using clients MAC addresses, the system can automatically allocate VLAN resources to clients and provide failover functionality during DHCP failures. This effectively enhances network performance and reliability, making it suitable for scenarios where a single SSID serves a large number of terminals—such as airports or schools—by logically segmenting VLANs and reducing broadcast domains.

Im very interested (but cant test yet as on OC300)  in this

3)  *Added support for assigning multiple VLANs to a single SSID in Site View > Settings > WLAN > SSID > Advanced Settings > VLAN > Add VLAN. Supports dynamic VLAN allocation with automatic client assignment and fallback during DHCP failure, improving flexibility in network resource management.

What exactly...is this?  Does this tie-in with RADIUS and dynamic vlan, or is this seperate, we define MACs that go into each vlan....or what?

Hi  @AmanSaroha

Currently, there are no relevant guidance documents available.

The VIGI network will function similarly to a new organization. After updating to a supported version, an option will appear allowing you to add the VIGI organization.

Currently, Central is only available in the European region. Customers in other regions, please wait patiently as we will gradually roll it out.

Hi  @Babun-Sikder

Please see my post above.

What's more, Omada Central is based on the Omada cloud-based controller.

On the Omada software controller, it can only recognize NVR/IPC devices and display them in the topology.

Additionally, the switch firmware needs to be compatible with the controller version.

✅ I installed Omada Controller v5.15.24 on my Debian system without any issues.

💡 One question: When will the new Omada Guard feature be added? Can anyone from TP-Link or the community explain what it is and if it’s planned for future updates?

Hi @Vincent-TP,

Thanks for the clarification and helpful details!

Great to know that Omada Central is based on the cloud controller and that the software controller currently only recognizes NVR/IPC for topology mapping.

Understood on the switch firmware compatibility — will make sure all devices are updated accordingly.

Regarding Omada Guard, I’m really curious about this feature — any insights on what it will offer or an estimated release timeline? Would love to see more advanced threat detection or edge security functions integrated into the platform if that’s the direction it's going.

Thanks again for the ongoing support and great updates!

Hi  @Nick-M

The device key is usually printed on the bottom of the product's housing, typically near the MAC address.

Since this feature is newly developed, some older devices may not have a device key. May I ask for your product model and hardware version?

Nick-M wrote

Very interested in testing this feature, but what is a device key? I've tried adding an AP by the MAC ID & the S/N, but it looks like it's looking for something different.

What are we supposed to be putting in that field? I know when using the cloud controller, it asks for the S/N.
