Model: RE600X
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.8 Build 20241127 Rel. 64778

Hi,

I recently experienced a serious issue with my RE600X range extender.
When connected through the RE600X, all DNS queries (via nslookup, with different DNS servers such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8) were always resolved to 10.0.0.1.

  • This happened even with completely random domain names that had never been queried before.

  • I did not configure any DNS settings on the RE600X.

  • When bypassing the RE600X (connecting directly to my main router, AX5400, or using mobile data), DNS resolution worked normally.

  • After rebooting the RE600X, the issue was resolved temporarily.

It seems that the RE600X was intercepting and rewriting all DNS responses incorrectly.
This behavior is very problematic because it breaks internet access and may cause confusion or misdiagnosis.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
Is there a firmware update or known fix for this behavior?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Takas ,

Thanks for reaching out. It appears that all DNS queries are being incorrectly resolved to 10.0.0.1, which is disrupting your internet access. It can be temporarily resolved after rebooting the extender, but it may recur.

Reset and reconfigure the Range Extender. Sometimes, a reset can resolve unexpected behavior. Please follow these detailed instructions:
