But the WiFi dont i do a lot of restart, shut down, replug in. I have reinstall the driver multiple time however the drivers will only install of it detect the device to begin with.

Right now it just luck if it starts up but when it dose it works with no fault. Bit confused on what could be the issue and what to do next.

Hello @Ranger43 ,

Welcome to our community.

When did you buy the adapter? Have you tried a different PC for comparison?

  • There might be a Wi-Fi on/off button on some computers. Make sure it’s switched on.
  • Enable WAC (skip if you don’t know where to find it). Right click on My Computer>>Manage>>Computer Management>>Services>>WLAN AutoConfig>>General>>Ensure the Startup type as Automatic >>Start>>OK

It sounds like your Archer TBE550E isn’t being detected consistently at boot. Common causes:

  1. PCIe slot power initialization – try a different PCIe slot if available.

  2. Fast Startup in Windows 11 – disable it:

    • Settings → System → Power & battery → Additional power settings → Choose what the power buttons do → Turn off fast startup.

  3. Driver initialization – make sure you’re using the latest drivers from TP-Link, not Windows default.

  4. BIOS/UEFI settings – check that the PCIe slot is fully enabled and no power saving options are active.

  5. Firmware updates – update motherboard BIOS to improve device detection.

If it still fails, the card may have intermittent hardware issues. Testing in another PC can confirm this.
