AV1200 unable to support 2 lines

As long as I only use one of the 3 ports in my AV1200 it works fine, but when I try to connect to two ports, the router begins to flash error on the two ports I use and both lines goes down. If I disconnects one, the other starts working again. Any suggestions as to how I get the link to work properly?
