It is awesome to see actual Australian firmware in the new EAP603 Outdoor!

   EAP603-Outdoor(AU) v1.0

This means the EAP supports the correct WiFi frequencies and transmission strengths for Australia. Congratulation to TP-Link for this great step to support the Australian market!

Will TP-Link be extending Australian firmware support for any of the EAP's sold in Australia with the incorrect (and possibly illegal in Australia) EU firmware?

In the past, TP-Link has been selling Omada WiFi products, like the EAP772, in Australia, but with EU firmware. This means:

(1) Whole bands like 5Ghz Band 4 and 6Ghz 97-125 frequency channels that are supported in Australia are not available with TP-Link Omada EAPs.

(2) TP-Link EAP transmission strengths are too low or too high on some channels (especially 5Ghz) so don't match Australian regulations.

(3) TP-Link EAPs sold in Australia with EU firmware can transmit on some frequencies that are illegal in Australia, e.g. 5Ghz channels 120-131.

Hoping that the new AU firmware will be extended to these existing products to fix these issues? That would be awesome!

Thank you so much for your attention to and support of TP-LINK products, and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback with us. We are genuinely delighted to see your recognition of the Australian firmware version for the EAP603 Outdoor—this is a great encouragement for us.

Regarding your question about firmware update plans for other models, our community team currently does not have access to specific release schedules or timelines in advance, unfortunately. We recommend keeping an eye on the firmware release section of the TP-LINK Australia official website for the latest information and official updates.
