Hello

I use my Archer NX600 with a mobile plan only. The EWAN port is disable and the ISP (Bougyes Telecom France) give the sim card an IPv6 public adress only (it have a private ipv4 adress that can't be use).

There is no option in TP-link router to choose between IPV4 or IPV6 DDNS. I tried TP-Link Cloud DDNS Service but it use a IPv4 and can't forward traffic, same for NO-IP, they can register an AAAA record but only as a child of a A record and will prioritize the A record (so a IPv4) and will fail to forward traffic. My last chance was to use my own personnal domain on Porkbun registrar but the router refuse to take the url (maybe because of the uncommon TLD).

So is this possible to update the firmware with a features to activate this TLD or to force the DDNS on IPv6/AAAA record on the TP-link Cloud ?

Best regards

  @quarassou

Hi, thank you very much for the update.

I'll record this request first. Currently, the DDNS settings don't allow being set to return IPv6 first / only.

For the custom IPv6 DDNS, have you tried to add the full domain names, including http(s) or www?

By the way, do you need to access certain local services via these DDNS domains as Archer NX600 only had a IPV6 public address?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

None of url format works. I test with "www dot test dot com" and it was also a 5525 Error code. It seems it need a specific format for the url and there is no info in the "?" button.

Is there any documentation available for configuring a custom DDNS on the router ?

Yes i want to connect with an openVPN to the router for accessing my homelab at anyplace. The public ipv6 adress is reset every 12h or 24h by my ISP.

I'm not an expert but i was wondering if a vm in my internal network with a ddns client (a OPNsense for exemple) can be use instead of the DDNS client inside the TP-link router ?
