Apple TV has trouble to revive internet while connected to deco
Hi everyone,
I’m having a persistent connectivity issue with my Apple TV since I recently switched to a TP-Link Deco mesh system.
Before purchasing and installing the Deco, my Apple TV worked without any connectivity issues. Since moving to the Deco network, however, the Apple TV disconnects every time I power it on.
What’s strange is that the Apple TV still appears to be connected to the Wi-Fi network. It shows as connected on both the Apple TV and in the Deco app, but it doesn’t seem to send or receive any data. Apps won’t load, and there is effectively no network connectivity until I manually reset or reconnect the network connection on the Apple TV.
I’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps:
- Disabled Mesh Technology/Roaming for the Apple TV so it stays connected to a single Deco unit.
- Assigned the Apple TV to use only the 5 GHz band.
- Restarted both the Apple TV and the Deco system multiple times.
Despite these changes, the issue remains exactly the same. Has anyone experienced similar behavior with an Apple TV on a Deco network? Are there any settings I should check or known compatibility issues between Deco and Apple TV devices?
One additional thing: I use a VPN on my Apple TV quite frequently. I’m not sure whether that could be contributing to the issue, but I wanted to mention it. That said, I was using the same VPN setup before switching to the Deco system and never experienced this problem, so the issue seems to have started only after installing the Deco network.
