Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: See post body

Main router: Archer BE800 v1.0

Firmware: 1.3.2 Build 20251015 rel.10659

Satellite node: Archer BE550 pro v2.0

Firmware: 1.1.1 Build 20260113 rel.13713

I have been using the Archer BE800 as my primary router for a while now and have been incredibly happy with its performance. To expand my coverage, I recently purchased an Archer BE550 Pro specifically to set up an EasyMesh network, assuming I would get a seamless Wi-Fi 7 experience across the house.

However, I discovered after the fact that the EasyMesh implementation does not properly support Multi-Link Operation (MLO) extension. While the MLO network stays activated and broadcasts perfectly on the primary BE800 router, it fails to propagate on the satellite BE550 Pro node.

It is highly disappointing that this limitation isn't explicitly mentioned anywhere on the main product pages. I am still within my return window for the BE550 pro and if this feature isn't supported or isn't coming with a software update soon, I will likely just return it. Had I known that adding a Wi-Fi 7 satellite node via EasyMesh would essentially disable MLO capabilities outside the main router's immediate range, I would not have purchased the BE550 Pro.
A few questions for anyone who can help:

Is this a known firmware limitation for the BE550 Pro v2 when operating in EasyMesh satellite mode?

Are there any upcoming firmware updates planned for either the BE800 V1 or the BE550 Pro V2 that will fully support EasyMesh MLO synchronization across nodes?

Is there any temporary workaround to force MLO broadcast on the satellite node without tearing down the mesh network and running it as a standard Access Point?

Any insight from the community or the TP-Link team would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @austiboy ,

Currently, MLO networks cannot be extended across EasyMesh satellite nodes. TP-Link EasyMesh supports extending the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands (and 6GHz on most 6G-supported Wi-Fi 7 routers), but MLO, IoT, and Guest Wi-Fi networks cannot be propagated in an EasyMesh network at this time. So what you're experiencing is expected behavior based on the current firmware design.

Currently, the Archer BE550-v2 already supports extending the MLO network to satellite routers; please refer to the following: △Enhanced EasyMesh Support with Extended Guest/IoT/MLO Networking and Advanced Features for BE550 V2

Please note that this feature requires support from both the main and satellite routers.

Thank you for sharing your feedback—TP-Link will continue to evaluate community feedback and use it to develop future products.
