I recently bought a new Wi-Fi 7 router with very powerful hardware, hoping to get premium and stable performance. However, I’ve run into a strange issue with Wi-Fi 6 at medium distances, specifically when the signal strength is around -67 dBm.
To try and fix this instability, I completely disabled the Wi-Fi 7 protocol since I don’t need it right now, and I turned off the MLO feature. At the same time, I kept all Wi-Fi 6 features enabled, like OFDMA, MU-MIMO, and Smart Connect—but the issue was still not resolved ، power saving disabled .
Honestly, does it make sense to buy a brand new, high-end router just to disable its advanced features to get it to work properly? If that's the case, I could have easily stayed with my old router and saved my money.
The strange thing is that Wi-Fi 5 is rock-solid and very stable, unlike Wi-Fi 6 at this exact same distance (-67 dBm). Also, note that there are absolutely no disconnections when I am close to the router.
I really hope the specialized engineering departments look into this issue and fix it in upcoming firmware updates.

Hey,
I have disabled 2,4ghz and I have strong wifi signals. Only uses 5ghz and locked channel 44. I have wired backhaul and easymesh on. Two be230 and another on is accesspoint.
We are working home and both laptops get random wifi drops. I use now another brand Xiaomi and same settings...not once has wifi dropped working days. Be230 drops every hour and it is impossible to work because of router issues.
Main router is same room with laptops. I have to workroom cable to fiber and living room same.
I have main router to wan to internet provider and lan ports connected via switch to living room. The switch is tp link and it is working fine because I use it with Xiaomi.
Also saw that be230 has higher jitter ms compared to xiaomi..when wired to my own pc.

@Joseph-TP just updated to the official 1.3.5 through the tether app, I've set the channel width back to 20/40 because I had it set to 20 only on 1.3.3 for stability.
I will let you know how it goes BUT can I ask one thing, can the dev team PLEASE add the ability to see what wireless channel you're currently using within the tether app.
thanks.

I have also contacted my internet provider and nothing problems on their side. So when this will be sorted and I will get features and stable internet which I paid for? Too bad I was too dumb and bought two of these units.
Now they are useless to use and can't even sold them...worthless...If this isnt solved via week I will send these pack for warranty. I don't care what you do with them..just send my money back..have paid over 200 euros these useless routers..Even Xiaomi ax3000 2 mesh under 90 euros works better..

Hello @Smugiee ,
We fully understand your concerns and aim to identify the root cause of the anomaly as quickly as possible to provide you with the best possible assistance and advice.
It appears that the disconnection issues you are experiencing go beyond the known instability associated with 2.4GHz connections; instead, disconnections are occurring across all wireless networks.
Have you tried the suggestions provided in our previous reply (based on the FAQs)?
You mentioned a switch between the BE230 units; could you temporarily remove it for comparison?
If the problem persists despite troubleshooting, we will need to escalate the case to our engineering team for further analysis. This may require a network environment that allows for remote access; would that be feasible for you? If so, please confirm and provide the following information:
1. Is your network topology as follows: BE230 — switch — BE230 + AP — Clients? Could you please provide the switch model number?
2. Router backup file and system log file.
If it is not convenient at the moment, you can also contact your local technical support at any time, and they will assist you based on the situation, including matters related to warranty service.

Hello @SamiS ,
Thanks for contacting our community.
It looks like the WAN connection is dropping. Has this unexpected behavior been present all along, or did it start with a specific firmware version like 1.3.3?
Have you tried the basic troubleshooting steps in this FAQ? TP-Link Router Unstable Connection: Troubleshooting Guide
Could you provide more details? For example, the complete topology and whether it's an EasyMesh network.
You can also contact your local technical support at any time, and they will assist you based on the situation.

Hello @DarranP ,
We look forward to your test results for the official firmware version 1.3.5.
In the Tether App, go to the Wi-Fi settings page, click 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, then select "Advanced." Click on it, and you will see Mode, Channel Width, and Channel.

@Joseph-TP Hi Joseph. Yes I'm aware of the advanced WiFi settings within the tether app but that only allows you to set a channel number it doesn't show you the current channel number being used. There's nowhere within tether to see the current channel number being used when you have channel set to auto.
