Network connection puzzle
I have just installed a new network at home consisting of an NE211 5G router outside the house feeding an ES208GP PoE switch wired to three EAP772 APs using the Omada Cloud Controller. I cannot get the network to be stable and I don't understand what is happening. When I plug it in and switch on I can connect to the wifi and connect all my Echos and smart home devices. But then steadily in 10's minutes to hours most of them drop off and won't reconnect. So currently my iPad shows it connected to the wifi but not to the internet while my iPhone alongside it shows connected to the wifi and the internet. If I then put the IP address of the NE211 into the iPad it will connect to it and show it as connected to the 5G cellular but it can't reach the outside world including the Cloud Controller. If I switch the iPad to Cellular it can reach the Controller and the controller can read the network
Which is the point that has me really scratching my head. If the controller can connect throught the NE211 to see the APs on the network and the iPad can connect through the APs to see the NE211 why can't the iPad see the controller ( or anything on the internet) ? And its not even as if it is always like that. For about an hour after rebooting the system the iPad can connect to the internet through the wireless until it stops connecting. Switching the wifi off and on won't reconnect it (it is connected to the wifi throughout but not the outside world). The Echoes drop off in between 10 mins and a couple of hours and won't reconnect. After the reboot one was happily streaming music and then suddenly stopped. When you asked it to continue playing it gives you the trouble understanding that message which means its not connected to the internet.
I have seen one or two threads of similar problems when the network is wired not mesh and not seen a solution yet so any advice, thoughts, solutions would be very welcome as the system in not usuable as it is. I suspect the NE211 being the issue. Tomorrow I'll replace it with my old Huawei 4G router to see as last time I did that early on in the installation the network seemed to work fine. But I'll have to get the ladders out to retrieve the SIM from it outside.
I should add if I connect my iPad with a network cable to the NE211 everything works fine. If I connect one EAP772 to the NE211 direct with a network cable (no switch) and connect to the EAP772 with wifi it exhibits all the problems above.
