Model : tl-wpa4220 AV500

Firmware Version : 1.2.4 Build 130530 Rel.39308n

Dear all,

I have one problem with one AV500 powerline adapter. My internet connection is 200/20mbit and I have powerline from the router to my bedroom. I know that the devices that I have only have 100mbit on the Ethernet port, so I know that I will never get the 200mbit speed.

But that is not the problem! I have the powerline setup working, but in my bedroom if I connect a ethernet cable to my AV500, I can get 85-90mbit speed which is good and it's more or less the expected. The problem is when I access the AV500 with wi-fi...

Even with my laptop right next to the AV500 device, the maximum speed that I get it's around 45-50mbit. I am using wireless channel 11 in 40Mhz band and N norm... I have already changed the wireless channels and the band to 20Mhz but the problem remains... I cannot get more speed than the 45-50mbit accessing the AV500 via wi-fi.

I really do not know what is wrong because if I just plug an Ethernet cable to the AV500, I get the 85-90mbit...

Does someone have a clue on this?

Thank you

What physical rate does your laptop connection show? Many laptops have no antenna multiplexing and no 40 MHz support (although some just have it disabled). If true, your laptop is limiting things to 150 Mbit/s (or less) of physical connection rate on the WLAN - and for that, payload throughput of around 50 Mbit/s would be expected.
