Model: Archer C4000
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20230727 rel.7523(5553)

After several years of no updates, my router suddenly started saying that a firmware update was available.

I did the automatic upgrade and it updated to 1.0.4 Build 20230727 rel.7523(5553).

If I look on the tp-link Australia site though, it doesn't have that version available for download, and I can only see that version available on the us support site.

Does anyone know why the router spontaneously decided that version was available and allowed me to upgrade to it, despite me coming from Australia?

Regards,

Hi, is your Archer C4000 EU version or US version? you could check it on the bottom label.

Besides, there are new firmware available for both US version and also EU version, and you could find the EU version firmware on TP-Link global site.

Firmware Download for Archer C4000 V3

As long as the corresponding version new firmware is available on TP-Link cloud, your router will receive the firmware update, no matter whether the local Australia site publish it or not, so it is normal that you could receive the new firmware update, please don't worry.

By the way, as you could see, there is a newer firmware now than your current 1.0.4 Build 20230727 rel.7523(5553), if you don't receive it on the router web GUI yet, you could also download it and update it manually.
