Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.11 20240724.38913

Previously I was running an AX11000 which was broadcasting 5ghz only and 3 m5 deco units that were broadcasting 2.4ghz (AP mode).
I still had some dead zones, especially for the 5ghz signal, so I figured to try adding xe75pro to the network to replace the ax11000 5ghz.

I want a seperate network as my IOT devices are all setup to connect to a different SSID than my main devices. So I configured the IOT network, and setup the main network for my other devices. Setup took much longer than expected but finally it completed and I updated the decos. Devices began dropping constantly like flies. I tried every setting I could think of, but the issue persists. When its connected, the connection is strong and stable (800 on 5ghz and 60 on 2.4ghz) - however maintaining this connection seems to be an issue as the devices keep continously dropping. They will connect back again after a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes.

I've disabled mesh for all my fixed devices. I disabled beamforming and other similar settings. I also set address reservation on the router for all decos. Network optimization ran as well.

I'm at a loss and it looks like this guy will be going back if I can't figure this out

  @something_else

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.

May I know how many smart home devices you have connected to Deco XE75 Pro?

I have seen a few feedback before users complain about the instability of IOT Network. Would you mind trying to disable the IOT Network, still connecting the IOT devices to the main network(2.4GHz band) to see whether it helps improve the stability?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP the way I have it setup is that IoT devices and main devices are setup to connect to two different SSIDs. However someone on Reddit mentioned to me that I could toggle the guest network and enable local access, effectively making it similar to the IoT network.

So right now I am trying this:
2.4ghz guest network with local access - iot devices on this network (about 60 clients)
5ghz main network - other devices are on this (about 40 clients)
6ghz - only my mobile phone is on this (1 client)
Wired - All decos, desktop, TV, MediaPC, Firecube, Nvidia Shield Pro (10 clients)

It does seem much more stable, but its still having some dropped connections - although not nearly as bad as the IoT network was. I am still going to try a bit more troubleshooting before I return the items. I was wondering if maybe having a mix of m5 decos and xe75pros are perhaps causing an issue? TP Link says they are all compatible but maybe because the m5 are wifi5 and the xe75 are wifi6, theres some sort of compatibility issue?

Either way I have another week to try and figure this out before I have to return the items
