Dear TP-Link Support,

 

I have a TP-Link Deco X20 (DFN) Hardware Version 3.0 that suddenly stopped working, most likely during an automatic firmware update.

 

The Deco no longer boots normally. The LED stays solid yellow, and when I perform a reset (disconnect power, reconnect power while holding the reset button), the LED only blinks yellow continuously and never starts normally.

 

The device only enters the emergency recovery web page.

 

I downloaded what I believe is the correct firmware for my Deco from your website and tried to flash it manually through the recovery web interface (192.168.0.1). The firmware uploads successfully, but at around 40% the process fails with the following message:

 

"Upgrade failed. The firmware version is not compatible with the router."

 

Could you please provide the correct recovery firmware for my device or advise how I can recover it? If my unit requires a different DFN firmware, I would appreciate it if you could send me the correct recovery image.

Hi,
The Deco X20(DFN) v3.0 does not have any new firmware released recently. For the reported phenomenon, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot further.
  1. Please press the reset button on the Deco for 1 second to perform a factory reset and check if the Deco's LED status changes.
  2. If not, you can download the firmware for the Deco X20 (DFN) v3.0 from here, then refer to the instructions below to recover the Deco's firmware.

If the same phenomenon persists, it's recommended to contact your ISP(if your ISP provides the Deco) or the local support team for assistance.

We tried this firmware.. but its failing and message is, that firmware version not compatible with the router?.

 

Tried all the versions we could find for this v3 

 

What is weird.. the other working decos (have 3) have version 1.3.2 build 20260113 rel 35341. Can you find me that firmware?

Hi,
The Deco X20 (DFN) v3.0 uses custom firmware designed specifically for the ISP, which is typically pushed by the ISP, and Deco X20 standard firmware cannot be used on it. If your ISP provided your Deco, it is recommended that you contact them to obtain the new firmware. If you purchased the Deco yourself, it is recommended that you contact the local support team for assistance.
