@Jackles You're not using the Kasa app for Smart Actions anymore. You use the Smartthings app to create Automations which replace the Kasa Smart Actions. The only thing the Kasa app is used for at that point is linking your smart devices to your phone, it's basically a dumb app at that point and Smartthings is taking over. If that makes sense.

@Jackles Does setting the trigger for your automation to the 'device status' of the lights that are wired to the trigger switch work? That's how I'm handling it for a similar 'control multiple lights from one switch' scenario.

Fyi for anyone reading this thread: connecting your Kasa devices to the Smart Things app allows you to use them as triggers in IFTTT, which you can't currently do with the standard Kasa account. This is a big plus if you want your Kasa wall switch to trigger your mood music, or turn off the robot vacuum, or start a strobe light, or basically control anything web accessible that isn't part of the smart home ecosystem :D

@edival I've got all my devices linked to smartthings and Google home. Unlinked kasa app from Google home. However the auto off feature doesn't work as it should like the smart action on kasa app. I have it set for 15 minutes. If the switch is on, and I physically turn it off after 5 minutes and then back on immediately it doesn't reset the 15 minutes. It will shut off after only 10 minutes. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is that just the way it is until they let us have more smart actions?

Testing Kasa native automations vs. Deco M5 automations vs. SmartThings automations, I noticed significant latency using the Deco for automations when compared to using the Kasa app. I notice no latency issues using SmartThings. I have moved all Kasa automations to SmartThings.

I should note that I also have a SmartThings hub for my Z-Wave and Zigbee devices which allows for excellent integration across multiple home automation technologies.

Same here, just finished installing 4th smart switch-smart plug pair to learn about this limitation.

@kasa it's seems around 2cyears passed since you added this feature, are you still in "test" mode?

@edival May I ask if you, or anyone else, knows for definite of an alternative to the Smartthings app for older phones (Currently S5 running 6.0.1, Model SM-G900F) as the play store says it's incompatible with my device?

This is an awesome solution unless you need to access the events triggered in the Kasa Cam watch areas which don't appear in the Samsung Smarthings App. These actions are very useful for turning on lights and making the house appear to be occupied when motion occurs in defined areas. I have four cameras, and can only trigger three actions. It would be fine if I could trigger the same events for two of them, but nope, no can do. Also, you can only trigger a single device and not a group. I'm going to be doing some research on manufacturers with a broader product line and  devices and better supported features.

The "keep waiting on our app please thank you now go away" is the stoic stonewalling which I have experienced more and more with Chinese companies operating in the US. It shows a definite cultural disconnect in regard to understanding American expectations about products.

Being told that a production product is being used to test a product feature is ludicrous. Worse yet, not having a target feature release date on a development roadmap is shady at best. I think I've finally drawn a line and will have to eat the investment I've made so far.

On another note, I'm not really very keen on having my video stored who knows where, and accessible by who knows whom.
