Hello everyone,
Thank you for your feedback and sharing multiple ways to stream camera , asTapo camera supports RTSP and ONVIF (Profile S) protocol, and here we would like to make a summary of some workaround to stream camera on a PC:
1. Stream Camera via RTSP using third party app like VLC Player or ONVIF software like iSpy, ONVIF Device Manager etc.
- RTSP is for streaming camera streaming
- ONVIF is for control or manage the camera, software supports ONVIF also uses RTSP for streaming
How can I play an RTSP live stream of my Tapo camera
- ONVIF Service Port: 2020
- RTSP Service Port: 554
- RTSP URL : rtsp:// camera IP Address:554/stream1
- ONVIF URL: http://camera IP Address:2020/onvif/device_service
e.g. rtsp://192.168.0.118 :554/stream1
< copy and paste the URL and replace the camera IP with your own camera IP address on Tapo APP>
2. Use an Android Emulator like Blue stack/ LDplayer4 to stream and control camera, here is guide shared by forum user
Stream Tapo Camera on PC through Android Emulator : LDPlay4 vs Bluestack
3. Stream Camera through Amazon or Google Smart Displays
Amazon/ Google smart display is required like : Amazon Echo Show, Echo spot, Fire TV OR Google home hub, TV with built-in Chromecast, etc.
Alexa: How to make my Tapo device (smart plug, smart camera, smart lighting) work with Amazon Alexa
Google: How to connect my Tapo device (smart plug, smart camera, smart lighting) to Google Home
4. Stream Camera Remotely on PC
1) Android Emulator is recommended
2) through RTSP streaming, you will need to open the port ( Port 554 for rtsp, Port 2020 ) for tapo camera's IP on your home router first
In this way, if there is any firewall or gateway in front of your router network, you will need to contact ISP to get a real public IP address.
If you met some trouble when using the above method, please start a new thread with case details , attach a photo of error, so we could help look into that further.
Welcome to share more apps/ ways that you are currently using to stream or control camera, we will keep this thread updated, thank you.

Hello everyone,
Currently, we don’t have camera control software for a PC nor can we view the Tapo camera directly on the web, we can only watch Live View of the Tapo Camera on the Tapo App or sync the camera screen to devices like Echo show, fire TV, etc.
If you want to view the Tapo camera on a PC, you may install third-party software to view and manage the camera, and here are the detailed instructions:

I've tried a few third-party software programs now and can't get any of them to work with tapocam cameras, you said be patient, how long do we have to wait, is a PC windows software program actually under development or not ? the android version isnt the most stable platform, but its our only option at the moment,

I was told that if you download blue-stacks (allows android apps to work on windows) then download ISPY you can view your Tapo cameras that way, when I tried I couldn't get it to pick up the Tapo cameras, everything else worked with ISPY except Tapo, but try it for your self, good luck,

@Richard_T123 I am in the same position, no Windows support. Bluestacks doesn't work. The other apps don't work ( ISpy and DVR), With my eyesight, seeing things on a mobile screen is problematic. Tapo need to get some sensible support in place.

@premtimi123 I've tried the iSpy app twice now, downloaded it, uninstalled it and tried again using bluestacks and ISpy picks up all cameras except tapo cameras, I think tapo should invest in a windows programs that allows the camera to be viewed on the big screen, it's about the only make of security camera that you cant use windows to view the images, they need step up to the next level and take a serious approach to user-end help and support, I.M.O.

@MALVICO Hello,
ISpy should detect camera when computer and camera are both in local network (make sure router AP isolation is off), it is recommended to create a new post regarding and share a photo of the rtsp path on ISpy and Tapo app. You could also try VLC player to view camera using rtsp.
Thank you for your feedback regarding Windows tool, this feature is still under evaluation.
