Hello everyone, regarding this feature request, we would like to understand what you specifically want to accomplish with the app on the TV. Please share your thoughts with us so that our product team can better understand this feature request and evaluate it.
- Watch Tapo camera.
- Control other Tapo smart devices. >> A question: why not use a phone or tablet? Personally, touch controls are likely much more convenient than using a TV remote.

I am using Tapo cameras at my grocery store. The problem is that I have an Android TV there, but it only shows one camera at a time, and that too with errors. It often takes a long time to load, and after a while, it stops streaming. My store deals directly with customers, and to keep an eye on them, I need to access all my cameras at the same time. Unfortunately, I’ve had a very bad experience with Tapo cameras at the store. It is crucial to have an Android app for the TV so the cameras can stream live on the screen while I’m working. Otherwise, there’s no point in having multiple Tapo cameras at any shop. I’m sure many other stores might avoid using Tapo cameras because of this issue, and I will never recommend them to anyone until there’s an app for Android TV.

@Wayne-TP It is required to watch camera live feed on tv so that it will be a full-fledged solution for security. End-user can use a android tv to dedicatedly for live footage from cameras

I think the reason you don't look favorably on this issue and don't include an application for TV is that the congestion on your servers will cause you problems.
Because you don't want your customers to constantly access the cameras via TV and create congestion on the network. Maybe you don't have the infrastructure to support this, I don't know. However, if you produce such high-quality products and avoid such costs, this would be suspicious.
Many other brands (such as Ezviz, Sonoff and Xiaomi) easily offer their customers an application to watch the cameras via TV.
Although you sent a message 3 months ago stating that you were waiting for our comments in order to understand our requests, you still haven't made any developments. This shouldn't be that difficult. Even putting the application you developed for Android and iOS in stores for TV boxes would have been a start. Unfortunately, you don't even do that.
People somehow install the mobile version of your Tapo app on their Android TVs or Mi TV boxes as in the picture and use it inefficiently (The camera images in the image are blurred due to privacy rules). You need to adapt your application to TVs without prolonging the process by giving the necessary value to your brand.

@Wayne-TP There are scenarios (quiet common I would have thought) where a smart TV could be dedicated to the cam or cams in order not to tie up a tablet/phone and to benefit from a larger display.
Additional, smart TV may also be controlled with either an attached mouse or keyboard, TV remote not totally relevant to this issue.

I appreciate your interest and I want to tell you what happened to me and maybe you can get some ideas on how to idealize the project. In these days I suffered a theft inside my house with my parents in the main room, they were beaten and tied up.. they did not notice anything while the criminals were breaking down the iron grates on the balcony, my father always asked me if you can see the cameras with a second TV so they can check what is happening outside when they are alone at home, they feel safer. Choosing to add a single grid or more for multiple cameras in small squares, it would be perfect. Alexa is not a solution because the video flow after 5 minutes of live stops and is useless and you can not live with the phone in your hand to see what is happening at home, especially with elderly people. I know I gave you a good idea to develop a beta on Android TVs

@philsand Really sad about what happened to your parents, hope they are doing fine now.
For such a serios scenario, I would sugget, at the meantime, go with EZVIZ cameras, at least they have a stable SmartTV app, which I used frequently whenever needed, untill Tapo do something, hopefully, about their cameras
