Great, be careful that if you don't use the cloud service and no SD card, if your camera disconnects from the wifi... you won't have any recording.

  @Ludovic_42 how do you use the cloud service with no wi-fi?

  @Hominin

You can't, you need an internet connexion to use the cloud service, that mean your camera has to be connected to a wifi.

I have memory cards in both the hub & camera now (it was only during setup with the hub that I had to temporarily remove the memory from the camera) and seem to be able to swap between the recording alternatives easily. To date no dropouts from the hub connection nor any when tested with camera directly connected with my modem wifi. Next step is a 9V UPS for the hub .

Hello!

I just jumped from a single c425, to a D230S1 with the H200 hub, and a C460.

Everything is on the latest public firmwares. Everything works great except I seem to not have the option listed here to manually put the cameras on the hubs AP. When I click "network connection", both cameras only have the option to toggle wifi backup, and thats it.

Was this feature exclusively released for the Iphone app? Or am I missing something here?

Lastest Android version and updated app.

C425 - Hardware: V1.20, firm: 1.2.26

C460 - Hardware:V1.0, firm: 1.2.0

Hub - Hardware: 1.0, firm: 1.6.0 Build:2025915

When you connect a camera to a Tapo hub, it supports two functions: storing videos and acting as a backup Wi‑Fi source. The camera will only switch from your router to the hub if it loses its router connection -- this happens automatically and cannot be controlled manually.

Thanks for the answer, but I think my question was misunderstood.

In the original post it shows screenshots and explains how to prioritize the hub AP or your Wi-Fi. I do not have that option to prioritize on my Android app.

People, it is confusing because tp-link decided that trying to trick people into buying their cloud service is more important than having a good system. To connect to the hub, remove the memory card from the camera and then select "local storage". They have blocked you from using a hub and a backup sdcard on the camera at the same time. you can only have redundancy if you buy their cloud service :/ That is why I will never get a Tapo product again.

Same as you !

It's a shame that simultaneous backup between the SD card and the hub isn't allowed, especially since it's possible via the cloud service. You can tell they're prioritizing profit over flexibility. Not to mention the frequent camera and Wi-Fi disconnections... even though the Wi-Fi signal is excellent and it's coming from a TP-Link router! Unfortunately, I won't be buying or recommending this brand again.
