  @tapouser-927593 That would be great, I planned to buy more cameras but i stopped after i noticed this limitation in the first one. It is really a pity because they are good products, especially the one with the hub with the SD that can be placed safely inside home.

  @tapouser-927593 I just got one set up and I'm very disappointed in this discovery once I got everything set up. Continues recording is necessary for the location and with a rise of Venice break ins in my area. I hope they add this back ASAP!

  @tapouser-927593 I know this an old post.  I have sent the same sentiments to TP-Link to no avail. I even pointed out that they had an option on the night mode whether to use infrared or starlight.  I pointed this out to them stating it renders their reasoning invalid regarding continuous recording draining the battery when using starlight/color mode at night would have the same effect as continuous recording. they have no logic &they only answered I have a point & it ended there.  Sad think is I have four of these duds.  In Australia I plan to go to consumer affairs because their product does not meet their claimed features.

It is absolutely a must-have feature. Continuous recording may not necessarily mean 7x24. I just want to have continuous recording for certain period of time. User should have this option, and the app may warn users about battery consumption.

Give the option to the user and leave it to user's decision.

  @newtapouser

Definitely. I'm missing so much events & if ever it records the person is halfway the frame exiting already. Cops came a couple weeks ago for an event where my camera was. pointed at... guess what... no detection no recording. They're not listening to their customers.

  @tapouser-927593

I recently purchased two C425's and now came to find that there is no continous recording to either cloud or sd card. I purchased them for ease of magnetic setup, but both of the devices are close to outlets and can stay plugged in.

Now, at the very least if continous recording was made available for always plugged in devices. Not sure if there would still be a negative drain even if always plugged in by the USB adapter, but it would be a start.

I understand the warning that the USB port cover needs to stay closed to maintain weather resistance.

It's kind of a bummer all around but I agree that the option should be made available as long as the customer is aware of the battery drain.

Please enable the continuous recording option for solar cameras. I will buy 100's per year through my business if that was an option. And i would switch hundreds of customers over as well.
