Hi!

Have had my C520WS up and running for about 10 days.

It´s placed in my garden and is mainly for the purpose of recording different animals passing by.

 

When it detects a movement filming in 2k QHD I notice a glitch/freeze for 1-2 sec coming in every sequence at around 6-7 sec in.

Wifi signal is good and I´m using Tapo Care, no internal memory card.

 

Then I tried 1080p for fun and noticed that the glitch/freeze-problem is gone.

 

What could be wrong?

We have new firmware that may help you. Please send me(@Solla-topee) "Forum ID 720176+Tapo C520WS's MAC address" via a private message if you want to try the firmware.

Before the Upgrade:
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the Pre-release firmware!
(2) How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App

Hi,
The problem may be related to the network quality. Please move the camera close to the router to obtain a better signal strength, and then check if the problem will disappear.

 

If the problem remains, please check:
    1) Go to the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and send us the RSSI value.
    2) How about the download and upload speed on your phone/laptop when it is near the camera and connected to the router's Wi-Fi?
    3) Do you have a problem when watching the camera's live feed?

Hi! The network signal is good, in my opinion. Both on the phone and camera. It shows 3 green bars and has -62 (RSSI) at the moment. The problem is not when live-streaming but only when it auto-records on movement and only in 2K, not in 1080p. Best regards, Björn
