Canadian here living remote. I tether to my cell for my laptop as we are completly off the grid (but have great cell service). Bought the smart plug to operate a appliance  but cannot get it set up..Downloaded the appropriate kasa files, went thru the set up but stalled when it said '' no internet" (Make sure that your router is working.......) Problem is I have no router???? Both the phone and laptop do ''find" the plug but the plug wants a router connection... Is there a workaround or??? Do I have to go with bluetooth, (RF is in the past having trouble going thru insulated walls)  

Any help is appreciated
