Hi,

I'm considering moving to a FTTP ISP from my traditional FTTC connection which will also involve transferring my landline to VOIP as part of the package.

The ISP provide tbe EX820v as their wifi router and state it must be used for VOIP. They won't send settings to any other device.

I want to use a mesh system in my home with a guest network but to do so I need to turn the EX820 into AP mode or I risk double NAT.etc (mesh will only do a guest network in router mode). Unless I "hire" an aginet mesh off them which I don't want to do.

Can anyone advise does setting the Ex820 to AP mode disable VOIP functionality or is that unaffected?

Thanks

Hi@Boff180,

Thank you for contacting our community.

As I know, the VoIP feature doesn't work under Access Point mode
Please note EX820v is a customized device specifically designed for local Service Providers. Its software is tailored to meet the unique requirements of these providers, ensuring alignment with their specific needs. We recommend contacting the technical support of your Service Provider who supplied the device, as they are best suited to provide the necessary assistance for your device.

Best Regards~

@Boff180 they should provide the VOIP settings to you. Perhaps you could argue your not a device, ;)

You may need to accept that setting up another device for VOIP would not be supported by them but without the settings they would provide and any additional requirements they might have you can't know if it will work ok.
