I am trying to set up an H100 hub with a T100 sensor and get motion events to ring a chime, plus control a smart switch.  I have the smart switch working with a pair of motion sensors but there does not seem to be any way to set up a ring action on a motion sensor, rather than a camera ( I do not have any cameras ).

 

The motion sensor box says V1.26 as does the H100 hub box.

 

The hub firmware is V1.5.23 Build 241106 Rel. 093525.

 

Am I missing something?  I see various threads on this but none have really helped except that it appears the motion sensors just allow one smart action.

The motion sensor doesn't ring, it is just a sensor. You can make a hub to ring by sensor detection through automation, though.

The motion sensor doesn't ring, it is just a sensor. You can make a hub to ring by sensor detection through automation, though.

I recently bought the motion sensor with hub. H100 with T100.

I was able to setup well and test it via smart automation. 

 

The problem is that, we may have internet connection issues during the night and I was thinking to just chime the hub when a motion is detected on the sensor, i explored the settings on tapo app but didn't get where can I set it up like that to work even when there is no internet and a motion is detected.

Tapo H100 supports local smart, which means the hub can handle the automation when the internet is down. You may check if your automation is labeled with a Tapo icon, if it does, then this rule can work locally. What is TP-Link Local Smart Action?
