Hi there,

I currently have 4 smart cameras and several smart lights and sensors around my house. Currently, most of them work off a Tapo H200 that was included with the purchase of a pair of C420 cameras.

The problem I am mainly having with the H200 is signal range - one of the cameras in particular seems to always have poor signal, and about 50% of the time I attempt to access the camera it just hangs on black screen, or when I try to view recordings I get a 'maximum views' error. FYI, the H200 is plugged in directly via Ethernet to my router.

My question is - would the H500 have improved signal compared to the H200 - I know it is a much larger unit with far greater space for antenna, but I wanted to ask the question before making the purchase.

Many thanks

Hi,
Wireless signal strength can be easily affected by environmental factors, such as obstacles and distance, making it challenging to ensure that the smart devices, like the camera, receive better signal strength when using the H500 only. However, if both the H200 and H500 are used simultaneously, it may be beneficial to connect devices closer to the H200 to the H200 and those nearer to the H500 to the H500. This approach could potentially improve overall network performance.
Best Regards
