Hello,

I've just bought a Tapo C110 and I'm using that locally via HA. There's an issue with the HD RTSP stream because it works very slowly and unreliably.

It's not an issue with my home network because I have 8 dahua 8mpx camera that streams locally in full res without issues.

Only the SD stream works fine. Using ffprobe I can see that packets are lost when trying to use the HD stream.

Would it be possible to have this fixed with an update?

Thanks a lot

  @CableWhisperer

Hi,

Please confirm the following information about the reported phenomenon.

  1. Have you established the RTSP stream between the HA and the Tapo C110 by referring to the instructions below? If so, please provide the URL of the used RTSP stream.
How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol

  2. On the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, please tap the Wi-Fi icon, and check the RSSI value.

  3. Are the camera and HA connected to the same router's Wi-Fi? If so, try to ping the camera's IP address on the HA, and send us the ping results.

  4. Try to stream the camera in the local network with another third-party app, such as VLC, and then check if the RTSP stream works fine.

Best Regards

Hello,

1. yes, I did. The URL is rtsp://<IP>/stream1 for HD and /stream2 for SD. I am then asked for auth, and it works. In both cases I can see the stream, but only SD stream is "real time", the HD one is either laggish or pixelated.

2. it's -62.8 the RSSI

3. the ping:

64 bytes from 192.168.30.235: icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=4.20 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.30.235: icmp_seq=2 ttl=63 time=3.98 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.30.235: icmp_seq=3 ttl=63 time=3.88 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.30.235: icmp_seq=4 ttl=63 time=3.88 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.30.235: icmp_seq=5 ttl=63 time=3.89 ms

4. I've tried VLC, HA, go2rtc, etc. I've even tried the "direct" stream from the Tapo Integration, but the HD one is still buggy.
