Model: Tapo T100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.12.0 Build 230512 Rel. 103011

Hello,

Strangely I can't find a way to disable a T100 sensor (motion detection sensor). I have several T100 sensors in my home that I only want to use when I'm not home (to warn me about possible robbery).

I know it's possible to disable the notifications, but that's not what I want. I want to disable the sensor itself so that it stops wasting battery to detect movements constantly when I don't need it. Using smart actions I see it's possible to disable notifications, but there's no way to disable the sensor itself. I have wasted a long time already trying to find this functionality.I can't believe disabling temporarily a sensor to save battery is not possible, it seems so awkward.

Does anyone have a solution which doesn't consist in putting the plastic protection back over the battery ?

Thanks !

The sensor cannot be powered off via software. If you need to deactivate it, physically disconnect the battery -- remove the battery or re-insert the battery pull tab.

Button batteries actually have quite a long lifespan. Based on our lab tests, the sensor’s battery can last up to two years with 50 daily triggers (25,000 total activations).
