Model: Tapo DL110
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.26 ref 181526

I recently purchased a TP-LINK TAPO DL110 Wi-Fi lock that integrates with the SmartThings system via the cloud. However, I noticed that the lock doesn’t indicate which user unlocked it, either by password or biometric authentication in SmartThings. Is there any way to make this work with the SmartThings system?

Matter (Future): The Tapo line is strongly migrating to the Matter standard. If this lock receives an update to Matter, will it be possible for the SmartThings Hub to become compatible and communication to become local? Do we have any timeline for this to happen?

When implementing features through third-party integrations, support is often needed from both sides to make something work. Have you used SmartThings to manage other smart locks before? Can SmartThings provide this type of notification? I don’t have that information right now, but I’ll definitely check. Just to set expectations, if SmartThings doesn’t support this type of notification, we can't make it happen either, it's their platform at all.

For information regarding future updates, we recommend keeping an eye on official firmware releases. We currently have no information to share regarding upcoming plans.

Have you tried their automation? It might be a workable solution.

@Wayne-TP I have five different smart locks from various brands using Z-Wave, Zigbee, and Wi-Fi protocols. I use Samsung SmartThings' own 'Smart Lock Guest Access' plugin, which allows me to identify all users who accessed the locks and create new ones. However, it doesn't work for TAPO.
