Do you have a mix of V1 and V2 units among your devices? This change isn’t caused by a firmware update, it’s simply that the V2 version doesn’t support pet detection.

On the V1, pet detection was an experimental bonus rather than an officially supported or advertised core feature for the TC82. With the V2, we updated the hardware to improve the camera’s overall performance and reliability.  In some cases, this led to compatibility concerns with certain bonus features. After careful evaluation, and to ensure baseline stability and a consistent user experience, the bonus detection features have been removed or streamlined.
