Archer C1200 v2 management interface and Wifi dies after a little while.

I've seen this issue reported by a couple of people already and some say upgrading firmware solves it.
The issue is that after a while the route still works, you can ping the web interface but don't even load loading page. Also the Wifi is visible but doesn't give any network access.
Rebooting the router solves the issue for a little while.
It seems like v2 of the C1200 is the only version that did not get a 2017 update, it is still on 2016-11-30.
Any chance to get a firmware update to fix this issue? it's plaguing my network and it is really annoying.

Hi All,
Following initial research and investigation, our Engineering Team is confident that they've determined one of the key origins of the issue. From what we have gathered so far, the issue appears to be related to some recent releases of Android OS and Google Apps. This issue stems from these devices' "Cast" feature, which sends MDNS multicast discovery packets in order to keep a live connection with Google products such as Google Home. These packets normally sent in a 20-second interval. However, we have discovered that the devices will sometimes broadcast a large amount of these packets at a very high speed in a short amount of time. This occurs when the device is awakened from the "sleep mode", and could exceed more than 100,000 packets in a short amount of time. The longer your device is in "sleep", the larger this packet burst will be. This issue may eventually cause some of router’s primary features to shut down – including wireless connectivity.

Hi All,
For other region customer, we will release new firmware to resolve this issue asap, and there are beta firmware for this issue now:
Archer C1200 (EU) V1:
http://static.tp-link.com/2018/201801/20180104/ArcherC1200(EU)_V1_180101_Beta.zip
Installed the beta firmware by Calvin more than a week ago that I believe is the same firmware as the one linked above but in a zip file .
It has been chugging away ever since and has been rock solid performer.
I did not encounter any serious stability issues like random reboots or wireless connectivity issues with any of my devices.
Minor annoyances:
IOS Tether app issues
[*]IPv6 connection stability
[*]GUI nested/static?? scrollbar. It makes taking entire page screenshots a PITA.

Hello again,
I previously reported the 1.0.1 Build 20180102 rel.34000 (CA) beta working but it has stopped again. Disabling the WIFI radios allowed it to otherwise work. If anyone has a later beta available for V1-CA please let me know. I see they uploaded a new V3 firmware to the main website but it will not flash to the V1 hardware.

You can contact tplink support via emali. Maybe they need gather more information from you. Or they already have a new beta for your version.

Hello, is planned a stable firmware (not beta) for router C1200 EU v1 ?
A definitive version is available for the C1200 EU v2, but not for v1.
Thank you very much.

C1200 loosing wi fi connection after using ChromeCast and Firestick devices.
2018-01-19 00:20:39
After reading other user comments on this problem I saw that there was a new firmware update for my new replacement router that I received for a different problem.
I installed the new firmware update 1/14/18 ( V2 2.0.1 build 20180103 rel 43911 ) and have used the router now for 4 days without a problem. Have used
my Chromecast and Firestick devices for those 4 days.. Prior to this update I would loose my wi fi every day requiring a re boot of the router. Hopefully
this has solved this problem, thanks to those involved in this fix.

Better late than never, but looks like Google will be fixing the issue on their side of things....

I don't see a thread dedicated to the Archer C50 for the internet dropout & router reboot problem, but I'm having the exact same issues with my C50. Can I use the firmware for the C1200 to fix this? I know the anser is probably NO, but I had to ask. I've contacted tech support via email several times with no response yet.

The C1200 firmware will not work for the C50.
1) Figure out whether your C50 is the EU or US version
2) Figure out whether your C50 is V1 or V2 hardware version
3) Create your own thread and state your problem.
