It is not actually controlling the scene with a product but scheduling a time where a scene will activate causing a switch, blub, or plug that is associated with that scene to trigger.

Thanks! I think that will do what I am trying to do. It looks like the switch will activate the smart action which will turn on or off other switches. Is that correct?

that's a different smart action, but yes control with a switch is a possiblity.  The one involving scenes is where you schedule a time for a scene to trigger causing what ever devices are attached to do as the scene request.  Such as dimming the lights for movie night.
