Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.7 Build 20180425 rel.62587(5553)

My router has two USB ports. When I use an HDD (1TB, basic, NTFS), it works fine. When I use an SSD, it doesn't. Sometimes it doesn't allow me to map to the correct volume. When I use an SSD with one partition, tplinkwifi.net doesn't recognize it. 465GB, Basic, NTFS. It works fine in a USB port in a computer. I just left a long chat with support chat that provided no answer. thanks for any help

@peacefulcharlie

For the drive that does work, what is the partition table? The same for the SSD drive. (MBR or GPT)

Please also provide the models of both drives.

Works-WD Passport HDD 1TB - external in a WD provided SATA to USB conversion case

Doesn't work - WD Blue 500GB SSD in a SATA to USB conversion case - runs on PC

@peacefulcharlie

Do you happen to have the model of the SATA to USB conversion case?

This same case works fine for the 1TB correct?

Don't have model. It is generic and not the same case as the HDD. HDD is an external unit with its own case and interface.

It appears it doesn't like the SSD, WD 500GB SSD. I will reformat the drive (again) and see what happens. I will inform you.

Thanks for the help so far.

I reformatted drive (again) and wiped it. Appears to work now. Thanks for the help. Will check back if other problems.

It might be the router itself. Check with your ISP. Maybe your SSD has some failure. SSD DATA RECOVERY is not easy, but in principle, if you find a good specialist from a service center, I think you will quickly solve your problem. Usually, computer diagnostics are not too expensive. The only thing you may have is to wait a while. Your computer will be in repair. The wait is the hardest part. So if I were you, I would go and take your computer to a service center, it will make everything a few times easier.
