Invalid password issues with WiFi after firmware upgrade to 1.2.8 20190403 Dec M5 Hardware 1.0

Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 20190403

After the firmware update to 20190403, some devices are unable to authenticate to Wifi with the "Invalid Password" error. However the password has not changed. After a few minutes it is able to connect with the same credentials. The phones were rebooted, wifi settings cleared and reset, the behaviour still comes back from time to time. Are we able to rollback the firmware or, get a new one to correct this issue?

Thanks

@Bruno-P

Is that happening on specific devices where it happens on a specific phone and not on a laptop for example?

@Bruno-P

What was the previous firmware the Deco unit was on?

Get a hold of our support team, they will assist you with updating the system that will resolve the invalid password issue.

I am having the same issue and am using 1.2.8. TP Support have suggested that I: 1. Turn off all 3 antivirus settings 2. Disconnect 2 satellite units 3. Remove all parental control profiles 4. Set QoS to standard (so basically almost a factory reset) And the problem still persists. Just for some devices. I am disconnected and then the correct password is refused. Sometimes after 8 or 9 tries it works. Sometimes you try again the next day and it works. Pretty frustrated, because in this mode it's no better than my basic wireless router and has no MESH! Still not resolved as yet. All worked fine pre-1.2.5 update, but not for any since then.

I'm having the same issue. Is there a fix on the way?

I also experienced the issue and I did connected to your support team through chat, they asked to do factory reset and connect again. I followed the same but after some time I faced the same issue, the connection will drop and then it will give me an error of Incorrect Password, I have to delete the device from offline list in the app and then connect again, then it works, but doing that every time is really too much of an issue, please provide a fix asap

@Bruno-P

Change the network name and the wireless password on the main network. What you can also try is to enable the guest network (Wireless Settings) to see how the devices connect to that as well.

I've tried renaming the SID and changing the password, however i had to rename back to original name, as I have many devices that are using that configuiration. Since there are many users reporting the issue after the 1.2.8 upgrade, is there anythng TP-Link was able to identify as why the firmware upgrade caused this condition?
