Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.2

Have a supposedly brand new AC5400  Router purchased on July 1 from Amazon. Found some puzzling entries in the log as it pertains to dates. Please forgive if this has been asked already I searched to no avail.

Here are a few entries,  mostly looks like from the year 2017 although there are a couple from 1970.

2017-09-12 00:00:20 factory-reset[6798]: <6> 284504 Service start (a bunch from this date)

2017-09-12 00:12:56 led-controller[1096]: <3> 288753 Config importing failed

2017-09-12 00:00:10 imb[3818]: <6> 218012 ARP Binding disabled
2017-09-12 00:00:10 imb[3818]: <6> 218506 Config interface initialization succeeded

1970-01-01 00:00:20 led-controller[1096]: <7> 288002 Adding led INTERNET_ORANGE (1970!?)

What does all this mean? Could this be a previously owned router?

@DonnieJ

When the router does not get the real time from the Internet, the system default time will be used in the log. This is normal when the router is just starting up or not connected to the Internet.

There are two kinds of system default times:

1.    Unix time, which starts at 1970-01-01 00:00:00 (refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time
2.    Build time, which usually starts at the date the firmware first compiled during development, for A20, we can see that it is 2017-09-12 00:00:00
