Model: Archer CR700
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: v1.0.6 Build 20160203 Rel615753

A few days ago I installed this modem/router combo. I went to the ip of the router and found the screen telling me I needed to wait 550 seconds for more than 5 failed login attempts before I could attempt to login. I have been watching for a day now and each time there is an error on the login screen saying that an incorrect login was attempted.

Is it possible that someone outside of my home network is trying to login to the router?

This is my first 'Gateway' device that has the modem and router in one unit. I have never expereinced this issue before with several different routers (including tplink brand routers)

Please help.

@Boli

There should be a system log indicating that there was a failed login. If there is nothing in the system logs, try a different web browser as it could be a browser display issue.

Log into the CR700, and go to Advanced > System Tools > Event Logs.
