@ArcherC8  (blatting buzzer sound) Nope. Mine is sitting on a wire grid shelf with plenty of air space below and above it. Maybe talk to the design engineers and see if they can come up with a suggestion?

You may have a bad router. I would contact support.

@ArcherC8 I'd think so too, except that this is the third router of the same model i've gotten from amazon with the same exact issue. that's one original purchase followed by two exchanges and i'm now past the 30 day return time limit, so i'm stuck with this one for now since i spent $100 on it. tplink has the absolute worst return policy itself, so i'm thinking that's not a viable option. This is the only router I've ever owned to have an issue like this.

@glf

Sorry to hear that.

If it were me, I would contact support.

Also I would go to the reboot page in advance settings and set up a schedule to reboot it everyday to see if that helps.

@glf Well, I hit the three week time limit on functioning Ethernet again. What a POS router! No warning, no cure, no help. I have never written a bad review for a product before (even for seriously BAD products) but this router moves me. Anybody have a suggestions for a router that will do the job?

@entsurv I don't want to jinx it, but my ethernet is still connected for about the same 3 weeks and using daily. I found some advice at the link below that suggested to disable any energy saving option in device manager or power management and so I did that and its the longest I've stayed connected via ethernet since i got the thing. I left a 1 star review on Amazon after all the issues and no help given in this forum. They dont respond on Amazon either. I initially read about the router on wirecutter where they recommend it too. I wish I had stuck with Asus, my last router was flawless, but I opted to get this one at the time bc it was AX rated and sub $100, and Asus has their own AX series now that wasnt out when I bought the TPlink

@glf I gave up on tp-link, bought a Linksys. Surprise! Same thing happens. Linksys support was caring, but not, utlimately, helpful. So, maybe this helps - it has worked for me. When the ethernet drops, unplug all ehternet cables from the router, then reboot. After router reboots, THEN reinsert ethernet cables. A pita, but so far ...

@entsurv

Glad you got it to work. Wonder if that would have worked with the TP Link router.

Since it happened on two different routers from two different companies, that would make me think that it is one of your Ethernet devices causing the issue.

@ArcherC8 @entsurv checking back in to report i'm still connected and no disconnects since last time in early June. disabling the green/powersave options seems to have worked for me. my network card is a basic realtek pcie gb with latest drivers. i'm connected to a gb switch then to the router. i see there's a firmware update avail for the router but i've chosen not to install it for now.

@glf checking back in to report still no disconnects since my last post. even after a couple of quick power outages that just turned off and back on power to the house. it rebooted itself and reconnected every device I have. still haven't updated the firmware.
