Just bought this pair of AV600s, plugged them into adjacent outlets in my office, paired them, all was good. 

 

Moved one into the TV room as I want to use this to run Ethernet directly to my cable box, they would not sync. The Powerline LED would light up for 15 seconds then go off. Moved it back to the office and it stays on.

 

These rooms are next to each other but on different breakers. Do they have to be on the same breaker to work? That seems like it makes them worthless, if both sources are in the same room I can use Ethernet cables.

 

Am I missing something?

Sorry for the delay. 

If powerline KIT could be paired in the same room, but lost pair (House Led off ) when the extender unit is relocated in to a different room (both in wall sockets), most likely your house powerline circuits or powerline environment is not suitable for Powerline Products, you could consider some wireless range extender or AP to extender the network:

@FredR Thanks, I guess I was right to return it. Only cost a 15% restocking fee.
