  @RodmanB,

If the duplex speed is also not negotiating correctly on the end of your PC, you are able to force the duplex setting for your windows adapter by navigating to: Control Panel > Network Adapters > Adapter Settings > Configure

This would allow you to manually set the duplex setting on BOTH the PC and the router to see if the PC is not negotiating correctly

OK here is the situation now. Even thought I was using the cable that came with the new modem to connect the modem to the router it evidently was defective. However when I replaced it I still got the same speed readings. Out of desperation I rebooted the modem and success. I now get 355Mb on a wired connection. Unfortunately, I only getting less than 60Mb on 5G and around 80Mb with 2G WiFi. I have used a WiFi Info program by NirSoft to monitor the WiFi signals and, WiFi max speed is for my router is 1300mb 5G and 216 for 2G (See pic).

When I check the WiFi adapter status I only am getting 173.3Mb (See pic).

I presume this is the max speed of the WiFi adapter. I guess the only way to improve the WiFi speed is to replace the adapter, which I'm starting to suspect. Especially since my 2G speeds are better than my 5G.

Windows update rarely provides the most recent WifI adapter drivers.  Chances are, you have an Intel adapter and they update drivers regularly.  Use the device manager to verify your adapter make and model and see if you can find an update.  Intel also has a useful driver update tool to check for you.

I am happy to report my WiFi issue is fixed. Unfortunately I can't explain why. While in the process of trying to resolve my issue, with the help here and TP-Link support, my computer developed another issue unrelated to network connections. I had to remove the motherboard and resolve some cold solder issues on the KB/Mouse USB block. After reassembly the WiFi went to 300+ Mbits/s. My only conclusion is that maybe removing the WiFi network card, to remove motherboard, made some unexplained difference. Anyway, the issue is resolved. Thank you to all who tried to help in the resolve both here and support. Have a Great Day, RodmanB

Good to here it is resolved.  I suspect the cold solder joints may have created a "dirty" electrical connection that may have created an EMI leak thus causing enough interference to degrade your connection speed.  Bad solder joints or dirty connections can act like little antennas particularly on high speed data buses.  Your experiance is definitely one to file away for approaching similar head scratchers in the future.
