Model: RE215   Archer AX21
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20230219 rel.69802

To start I'm not a very tech savy guy but from the little research I have done, I don't have a wifi card on my pc tower (the greed of cheap amazon deal on pc screwed me over) and now I use some little USB thing to get wifi. I bought a renewed AX21 from Amazon not very long ago to save e-waste (yep did it again never learned my lesson), it works fine but the pc I described is a bit far, behind couple of walls,cabinets and has poor wifi speed (I can't tell if it's the router, the usb thing wearing out or just a dead zone). Now I'm on the fence for buying a RE215 extender to better my connect here.So can I get better internet connecting on the pc by connecting it to the RE215 using a ethernet cable like a sudo-wifi adaptor? or atleast better my wifi capabilities. I really just need some thoughts or assurance to click buy as I dont want to buy another tech I barely have use for.

Edit: Any better suggestion for tech would be great too.

  @NotTechSavy,

If the RE is placed in the exact same area as the PC, you may still have issues with your connection, as it sounds as if it is either too far for the signal to reach through the walls or is in a deadzone. Theoretically, the RE can broadcast and pick up signals better than what your adapter can do, however, it is still limited by what wireless signal the RE can achieve itself.

If you were to get an RE, you would most likely want to place it halfway between your PC and Router - which may make it more difficult to wire your PC.The wired connection should be much more stable than that of the wireless network of the RE, and should show far less latency.

I would make sure that you also look into using a OneMesh network as both the RE215 and the AX21 are Onemesh compatible and may be able to provide a better experience/connection.

If possible, your absolute best solution is to place a wired network extension near your PC, whether it be an Access Point, or another mesh point that uses a wired connection, as is possible in Easymesh configurations. If you are looking at needing high bandwidth or low latency on your PC, these would be the ideal options and will provide the best connection
