This is something that the development team has been looking into recently. We have seen the feedback that many features are foiled by the use of private addressing on devices and are working to come up with a better solution.

Unfortunately, it is still difficult to create a reliable system that will accommodate Private Addresses. We should have more information about what is in development as we begin to see the newest HomeShield 3.0 features introduced into the wild.
