I have a 100 year old 1640 sq ft 2 story house.  I currently have one Linksys Velop device high up on the second floor which covers the entire inside of the house.  The signal from the Velop goes downward.  Would the Archer BE900 cover my entire house?  Which way does the signal leave the router?  Up, down, or horizontal?

Mostly a router goes horizonal, but does work fine in multi story homes. My router, not a BE900 is in a loft area and covers my 1800 sq ft home, my detached Three car garage, and down to my dock. So it should be fine. If you are worried, buy from a place that alows returns.

Thanks. My current router is a Linksys MX5300. Linksys says it covers 3000 sq ft. I'm not to sure about that but it covers what I need. Would it be better with 2 stories to get a Deco BE85 or BE95 instead of an Archer? I want to put my network rack on the second floor so I would want the Archer or the main Deco upstairs.

I have not used a MESH system so I am the wrong person to ask. I prefer a single router since it fits my needs. The specs are impressive for those MESH units. I would look at the reviews from dongknows, wired, plus others.
