Archer c9 ethernet will not connect to router

I have had this problem a couple of times. I have an Ethernet cable from my Archer c9 connected to my smart TV. In the past, the blue "monitor" icon on the router would light whenever the tv was powered on, regardless of what programming was on (cable TV, or streaming such as Amazon Prime, etc). On a couple of occasions I noticed the icon was not lit during TV use, and found I could not access the internet. The only way to access the internet was to reset the router. Presently, I have the same situation, but even re-powering the router has not corrected the problem. So I can not access the internet using the wired connection, but I can switch the TV to wireless and it will connect to the router. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.
